Hands
These images are soft and sentimental study of the human body, specifically focusing on hands. I wanted to challenge the idea of assumptions, can you really tell anything about a person from their hands? Are there characteristics that can tell a story?
The interesting realisation that I came to whilst exploring this idea is that myself, as a member of the family and as the photographer can tell exactly who these people are, and I know parts of their life story. As an outside viewer, these associations are lost to the more generic ideas and assumptions that can be drawn from these images.
